Paola Battilani is full professor of Plant Pathology at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (IT), Department of Sustainable crop protection. Her main expertise regards mycotoxin producing fungi, their ecology and interaction with the host-plant; factors involved in enhancing mycotoxin production; predictive models and Decision Support Systems (DSS) development as support for risk assessment and crop management; the use of innovative approaches in plant disease management according to integrated pest management (IPM) and sustainable agriculture principles; assessment of climate change impact on mycotoxin producing fungi and mycotoxins.

She was invited as speaker in many international conferences and her research activity is reported in more than 130 papers in international peer reviewed journals.
